Primary Research Mood boards
As further part of research into the theme and style of the game level idea, primary research was conducted, looking into architecture of local buildings and their design around Liverpool city centre. This also looked into, textures of brickwork, for example the brickwork design that would have been used in the Victorian era towards the 1920's, such a English wall bond and Flemish wall bond. Overall design of buildings, offices and houses, looking at doors, pillars, roofs, chimneys and windows. Also looking at possible assets that could be used in the level, statues, lampposts. As well as looking at textures, brick, steel, rust and overgrown elements were nature has begun to reclaim parts of unused buildings.
Below are four Mood boards of primary research images taken on 22/1/18 around Liverpool city centre by camera.

The main purpose of gathering so many images and creating these mood boards was to gather as much research into architecture to aide in the research and development of the game level idea, having a Victorian to 1920's theme. This has helped first hand in looking at architecture of this period and the layout of the different types of buildings the construction in design. Placement of windows and doors, even the use of pillars.
Internal Architecture Mood board
More images were taken on the inside of the Liverpool city library to
look at internal architecture of the period, which again will aide to the
development process of the level.
Although at this stage, it has not been decided whether there will be rooms to go into on the level or whether the level will all be based outside on the streets, some images were taken and a mood board was created regardless, as a internal room(s) might be created at a later date, and this mood board would be good reference. Also, it might be useful during the modelling stage of the buildings in reference to location and design of windows and doors.
Asset mood board
Another mood board was created for assets that might be required in the
game level, such as trees, lampposts, lighting, statues, gates, railings,
girders.
As stated, the idea of this mood board was to get reference images for possible designs of assets to be used in the level, how the assets might look, were assets could be placed and the different designs.
Texture Mood board
The last primary image research mood board was created to look at
different textures that could be used in the level. Concrete, pebbled
roads, brick design in house and other building constructed, English
wall bond, Flemish wall bond, steel, iron, rust, moss and grass.
This mood board is to help with getting details on the building that make them look real, used or lived in, which will help when it comes to texturing the models for the level.
